Around Here Week 13

Now that we’ve limped our way to April, let’s celebrate spring with a photo of the first plants to come up – the weeds that grow between the pavement cracks. I can’t help admiring the tenacity of these buggers.

Actually, I can see making this with heavily textured green yarns sewn into thick french knots.

    I love your thought on this one, and completely agree! In the Spring every walk through the 1-acre woods half of our lot inspires my evolving fiber-art sensibility. Even the ever-present chickweed and wild violets in planting beds and yard are welcome this time of year, if only for a few minutes before they get “edited.”

  3. I can totally see a fiber piece inspired by your photo! I love the juxtaposition of the hard and textured surface with the living greens.
