Ann Brauer’s quilts do amazing things with very simple, scrappy strips. Forget all those elaborately shaped pieces. Skinny rectangles and strips can be sublime. I found her quilts by accident when I was trying to locate the name of the quilter who did the raw edge applique landscape quilts I had liked so much at the Quilt Canada show. I’m still working on that, but the detours are always fun. Oh, found out the torn strip landscape quilts were done by Heather Lair.
Here’s a work called Moonlight.
